SIGNATURE WAIVERS

Wow, I can’t believe we are about a month away from posting the PALM application for next years ride. PALM applications will be posted on our web site on Sunday, January 10. Participants will be able to download the application and send it in with the appropriate payment and also the required signatures. These signatures on the second page of the application include those of the participants and of the parent and sponsor, where appropriate. If applications are submitted without the necessary signatures, all participants that are included on that application may forfeit their places on the ride.

We understand that sometimes it is difficult for participants to immediately obtain signatures when the application is posted. Therefore, you can download and print the signature page by clicking on the link below or under the DOWNLOADS tab. Participants can print out copies of this page and obtain signatures, so that completed applications can be submitted after the actual application is posted on January 10. Please do not send in the signature/waiver page by itself; this page must be submitted as part of the actual application. Even if several individuals are included on the registration form, the necessary signatures can be included on separate pages, all stapled to the front registration page. Please email us at palmbiketour@yahoo.com or call 734-669-0172 if you have questions or concerns.

Letter from the Chair

Welcome to PALM

This year we will celebrate the 35th annual PALM. The volunteer staff is working hard to make this a great ride. We look forward to welcoming first time riders to join our veterans who have been on PALM many years.

PALM XXXV is a northern route, starting June 18th 2016 on Lake Michigan’s shore in Pentwater. We will end June 24th on Lake Huron’s shore in Oscoda. Except for the first two site locations, we will be staying in entirely new towns that PALM has never visited before. Some maybe small but they all are looking forward to welcoming PALM riders.

PALM is a family friendly ride, welcoming bikers of all ages and abilities. Daily average mileage is between 40 and 60 miles. We often have two to three generations riding together. Our riders range in age from toddlers in buggers or tag-alongs, to 6-8 year olds pedaling on their own bikes or on tandems, to folks in their 90’s. PALM provides daily optional routes for the more enthusiastic cyclists who desire higher mileage. We even offer a Century for those interested in tackling 100 miles in a single day.

PALM is in the process of streamlining our registration, and has a few changes to announce. New this year, participants have the option of buying all meals (breakfast & dinner) or no meals at all. Riders no longer have the option of choosing which days to purchase meals. A few years ago, PALM made our application available via our web site to download and return by mail. This year’s application will be available on January 10, 2016. Be sure to mail in your applications early, as PALM tends to fill quickly. Don’t forget to have everyone sign the release form, which is available now for download. We accept the first 700 applicants. In 2017, we hope to have our registration process completely online.

I look forward to seeing everyone in June.
